3/15/2023 0 Comments Borderlands 2 psycho pack skid![]() Seems like someone has never worked in software dev. When you go from needing to sell 5 million copies to make back your $90 million dollar dev cost to only needing to sell 2 million copies regardless of the quality of the game, you don't think that changes the development at all? It was the biggest amount Epic has paid anyone to date for an exclusive, so much that it's covered by an NDA, and we know that Epic has lost upwards of $300 million dollars with their shitty scumbag exclusive purchasing bullshit so far. Is suggesting that the amount Epic paid to get one game in their storefront on one system for a mere 6 months was enough to offset the cost of development to a point where they no longer had to care if the game was good. Before that the plan was, "make an actual good game and let customers have a choice where they want to play it." It was "always the plan" after Epic dumped a shitton of money in their laps, yeah. That's the level of shitty here.Ĭonsoles got normal physical and digital releases at the same time as the PC and ultimately outsold PC by a lot, and 6 months later Borderlands 3 was released on Steam as was always the plan. A software which we know was installing spyware until they got caught btw. It means they were forced to install software from a shitty company with a shitty CEO that is doing shitty things to game industry. This means the first 6 months after Borderlands 3 came out the only way to play it on PC was through EGS, so PC gamers had to go through the absolute trial of minimizing Steam and opening EGS to play it. Really a damn shame that the series is reduced to a parody of its own self. Add that to the ending which she pretty much inherits Pandora without a precedent to why she earned it.Īt that point I was so done, I didn't even care if Lilith goes Superman on the moon and fucking DIES. And everyone else sweeps that fact under the rug. She literally opposed Maya's orders and rather than fleeing to fight another day, she forces Maya to step in and basically sacrifice herself for the little brat. Not to mention, Ava, oh boy, here we go again, uses her trauma to guilt trip others.Īva getting Maya murdered and then she blames it on Lilith. The humor that used to made me smirk, scoff and laugh my posterior off, now just sounded too trying too hard and cringeworthy.Īnd of course, the story was just as bland and forgettable. It relied too much on quirkiness and pop culture references that it missed its original intended mark by a mile. The most appropriate comparison I can think of was like the recent seasons of Futurama. Torgue, Tiny Tina, Angel and returning player characters from 1, whom are now established characters of their own.ī元 felt like they wanted to recapture the feel from the previous entry. BL2 had so many memorable moments that it sends you into a roller coaster of emotions, you have great characters like Mr. I loved its tongue-in-cheek humor, and you have a great villain in Handsome Jack whose charisma is built around pissing off the player, and it works. I'm no stranger to the over-the-top quirkiness of the series since 1 and especially 2. ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't know if this is just me, but no matter how hard I tried, I really could not bring myself to like Borderlands 3.
